Help those in need
Our Sisterhood is cooking meals for the homeless, providing clothes for disadvantaged women entering the work force and providing holiday gifts for a local family with three children. Click the header to find out how you can help.
Grassroots : We cook and deliver a meal for fifty individuals every other month. Thanks to Pam Skulsky, Diane Caplan, and Toba Barth for assisting in the coordination of this undertaking. Please contact one of them to help.
Success in Style: We are collecting professional attire that reflect current styles for women who are in need of clothing for jobs and interviews. Drop off may be made to Sue Portney, Linda Feldmesser, or Michelle Clark, or to Success in Style or Charity’s Closet, directly by appointment. Receipts are available. The contact information for Success in Style is 3209 Pine Orchard Lane, Suite A ,Ellicott City, 410-750-6475, or for Charity’s Closet is 9090 Frederick Road, at St. John’s Lane, Ellicott City. The last day for clothing collectionis December 1. If you have a large amount of clothing and are unable to drop them off, please call Michelle, Linda or Sue, and we will try to arrange a time for one of us to pick them up.
Deep Run Elementary School: We're adopting two families from a local elementary school this holiday season. The family of five at Deep Run Elementary has three children ages 9,7, and 4. Games, food cards, gift cards are all appreciated. Food and gift cards are the best to accommodate the families’ needs. If you could bring one or more to a Shabbat service or temple meeting or activity, it would be greatly appreciated.
