About the Men's Club

The Bet Aviv Men's Club meets monthly on Sunday mornings to explore current topics of interest. In the past, we have focused on those related to health, US intelligence, politics, finances and identity theft. Women are always welcome, and are particularly encouraged to attend when our speaker's topic is of general interest. Preceding the program, the Men's Club hosts an optional bagel and lox brunch for a nominal fee.

This active group provides opportunity for camaraderie as well as for support of Bet Aviv activities. It takes on fund raising projects for charitable causes, participates in Mitzvah Day and volunteers its assistance at High Holiday services. For additional information, please feel free to contact us.

Upcoming Men's Club Meetings
February 2012
02/19 -  Men's Club
Please join us for our monthly Men's Club program. This month, Bet Aviv member Peter Pollak will speak on "Self-Publishing: What it Means to Readers and Writers". In the past, when someone self-published a book, it was called “vanity publishing,” which meant it cost the author a lot of money and very few copies got sold. Today, even traditionally published authors are self-publishing. What’s changed and what does it mean to you as a book reader and a potential self-publisher? Peter will talk to us about the emergence of self-publishing as a legitimate vehicle for works of all kinds. Peter self-published his first novel, "The Expendable Man" in March 2011 and is finishing up a second. An optional "bagelicious" brunch starts at 9:15 AM is available for a nominal cost. Contact Alan Berlin to RSVP or for more information.
